Before Arrival
It is very important that you bring with you:
- the N/5-a document;
- a valid passport if you are not from an EU or Schengen Space country;
- information about accommodation, which has been sent to you previously, in case you arrive during the weekend and no pick up service is available;
- enough money to survive the first month, since you will receive the first payment by the end of the month. Note that you need to pay in advance for accommodation. In some cases you have to pay two months in advance. You also need money to eat and for public transportation;
- be properly covered by an insurance policy.
You should print out the Welcome Guide. The guide provides useful information to prepare you for the internship.
Upon Arrival
A Portuguese student will probably welcome you at the airport. He/she will give you all useful information you may need and take you to your accommodation. To guarantee airport pick up you should arrive on week days at working hours.
Before Departure
We hope that you had a pleasant stay in Portugal. Your supervisor should complete the Employer’s Report to send to us, IAESTE Portugal. You may remind him about it. You also should complete the Trainee’s Report and send it to your National Secretariat/Local Committee. It is important to have the feedback about the internships and these reports are very helpful.
We would like to learn more about your experience! It would be nice if you could send us pictures and write a few words about your time in Portugal.
